REAL FOOTBALL Thread

There's clear video of Decker reporting... Skipper (70) had been reporting all day, and what seems obvious from the video is the ref simply just assumed his entering the game meant he was the one reporting. Pretty shameful from the ref and put a sour taste on an otherwise great game

There's clear video of him going over there. Weren't there 3 Lions over there? I'm not disagreeing with you about what probably happened. I'm saying without some audio proof (and there has to be some) nothing is going to happen. You know as well as I do that in today's America nobody's going to go against the feelings they already have unless there's evidence. Also, if there's audio evidence that the ref announced Skipper, or any other Lion besides Decker, as eligible why didn't he or some other Lions go back to the ref. In something that important shouldn't you make sure? Shouldn't Campbell have double-checked? I've been calling for the NFL's officiating crews to be investigated for some time now and nobody cared. I'm TOTALLY fine with the refs being disciplined, even the game results being overturned, IF they can find audio evidence and there has to be some, right?

Like I said many times, the NFL is a multi-billion dollar industry. Why is it too much to hold those aholes accountable? Without proof there, we may both know what went on, but who's going to believe us? Cowboys fans got what they wanted so they won't, Lions fans got screwed (or feel like they did) so they won't, and most other fans either hate one side or the other or simply don't give a crap so they won't say anything either way. Get some actual proof that would stand up in court and I'll be right there at your side, calling for what you're calling for. Without proof/evidence though we'll both just be pissing in the wind, as it were.

Refs screwed both teams. Dallas if they lost would have had a shout. Detroit with their loss has a shout.

If they lose to the Bears and the Saints last two games, he isn't keeping Smith.

Reports seem to have Blank looking for reasons to keep Smith. Blank apparently loves Smith as a person and really doesn't want to accept that Smith is just a lousy football coach.

I will lose my **** if Goodell overturns the game. If the NFCCG blown call with the Saints and Rams didnt get it nothing better get it.

Eh, I think he's gone at this point... basically said he's back barring a complete collapse and then they spectacularly collapsed

Purdy with another good game pushing the ball down the field. Unfortunate bounces against ravens (still was moving the ball easily) but he still has a solid mvp case. Especially with someone like Mitchell running well in CMACs place yesterday.

The video shows decker waving his jersey to the ref, and it shows that Skipper never did anything.

Decker also confirmed this. And skipper also confirmed this. And Dan Campbell said he went over it with the refs before the game.

They practiced it all week, they obviously did it correctly. The ref clearly screwed up bc he made an assumption

Lamar easily wrapped up the MVP. 5 TDs in a game to decide the No. 1 seed in the AFC? Nothing else need be said.

As long as Lamar is healthy it's tough to take anyone else for the Superbowl. I suppose you can never count out Mahomes and KC, but they just don't seem like a good team this year. Maybe the Bills if Josh Allen can play a clean game, but we all know that is unlikely.

Anything can happen in the post season. But to me it seems like we'll get a SF/BAL superbowl. Both are just respectively better than their opponents. Again anything can happen.

Right now the playoff picture looks like this

AFC
BAL - Bye
MIA/IND
KC/BUF
JAX/CLE

This sets up for
BAL vs CLE/BUF
MIAvs KC/CLE

I see little chance Jax or Indy wins. It's the NFL anything can happen, but I see little shot of that.

Buffalo I think can beat Baltimore, I don't think Cleveland can. Other game is a coin toss. Miami Cleveland could be wild. KC I think loses to Miami but who knows.

I think the first round after the bye is when Baltimore is most vulnerable. I think they again will dismantle Miami or beat up on KC.

NFC goes
SF - Bye
DAL Vs GB
DET vs. LA
TB vs PHI

Those week 1 games can go all over the place. Dallas should be heavy favorites, their home record is impressive (perfect 8-0) but Green Bay has pulled some stunning victories like beating Detroit in Detroit, so I wouldn't rule them out but Dallas should comfortably win.

Det vs. LA should be detroit favored, but Detroit has lost home games, so they aren't a fortress and LA has pulled stunners, including pushing Baltimore hard at home earlier this year, Should be a really fun game.

TB vs. Philly is insane. Philly has been all over the place. This is a team who both won in Arrowhead, and lost at home to the Cardinals. Tampa is pretty bad, and home has not been a fortress as they've lost already to the Eagles there, the Lions, the Falcons and the Saints.

I think it's safish to guess Dallas, Detroit and Philly win but all 3 of those teams have lost shockers at different points this year that sets up

SF vs Phi
DAL vs Det

Revenge game for lions means that game is a true coin toss. Don't need to give a team more motivation going into the playoffs. SF should boss Philly comfortably unless Philly gets hot. I don't think that's likely as it seems like they're backing their way into the post season. SF gets to host Dallas or Detroit, I'd rather host Dallas who's a joke on the road, the passing game goes from 8.8 NY/A at home to 6.0 on the road. Facing against a rock solid SF defense, they're done. They'd need someone like Micah to carry them and make Purdy afraid all day to have a prayer.

I just don't see many probable scenarios where it isn't BAL vs SF. Buffalo I think is the best opportunity to play spoiler because it doesn't seem like KC has it this year (Super Bowl hangovers are real). Philly needs to do a ton of work this offseason to fix Hurts because he's broken right now. Keeps trying to hit homers when he's a an contact hitter.

While it seems funny to say, don't sleep on Detroit. Especially if they can play their playoff games in a dome setting. Goff has been pretty amazing in domes since he got traded to Detroit.

I can’t believe I started Shultz over Likely in the fantasy cg

I knew better

I won my league by the skin of my teeth. 183 - 181. I thought for sure I had lost it when I benched Breece Hall for Jaylen Warren and then Breece went off. Didn't see that coming vs Cleveland. Luckily the guy I was playing had the Seahawks D.

Detroit is good. I think NFCCG is SF vs. DAL/DET.

So playoff scenarios ignoring tie shenanigans

Texans @ Indy - Winner makes playoffs. Winner could also win division if Jags lose (I think Houston wins division either way)

Tampa @ Carolina - Bucs win and they win the division, lose and they are out of the division.

Atlanta @ New Orleans - Atlanta can only get the playoffs with a win and Tampa Loss, New Orleans gets in with a win and loss or tie from Tampa, Green Bay, or Seattle

Pitt @ Bal - Pitt needs some help, needs a win and loss from Buffalo or Jacksonville. Or a Jax loss, plus Denver win, and no tie in Hou/IND.

Buf @ Mia - WInners gets division. Buffalo can clinch playoffs with a loss still if Pittsburgh or Jacksonville loses.

Jax @ TEnn Wins division with win?

Dallas clinches division and 2 seed if they beat Washington. Eagles need Dallas to lose and win to win division

Green Bay wins and in, or needs Minnesota, Seattle and one of Tampa or New Orleans to lose

Seattle needs a win and GB loss.

Minnesota needs the most help they need to win, and have Green Bay, SEattle, and one of New Orleans or Tampa to lose.

Sad part is NFL is missing all kinds of drama by spreading the games out. I get they get more eyes on certain games.
