Unlike Grissom, Ignacio's lack of power appears to be due to hitting the ball on the ground too much. Perhaps he is a swing adjustment away from being an impact bat. He is definitely the guy to watch in the system this year, and we should be cheering for a 40%+ fly ball rate from him.
Moreover, unlike Grissom, reports on his defense have been good—good enough, indeed, to think he may actually stick at SS. It’s an interesting development, since, as I recall, he was drafted as a defensively-gifted 3B and then moved up the spectrum to SS.

That mfer aint playing SS at the professional level...Especially in Boston
I would have loved to have Cease but AA did the right thing in keeping AJSS and Waldrep. AA is doing a good job building the farm.
I'm on the opposite end of the AJ spectrum. I like him enough but I love Waldrep infinitely better while knowing that if he doesn't get that command together, he's bullpen bound. It's not AJ'S fault he skyrocketed through the minors, but I wish he'd have gotten a solid developmental year in the minors. His fb seems to flatten out the longer he goes but again, that could be youth and figuring out when to air it out and when to use secondary pitches more. Eh..the farm is starting to slowly rebound.I think the potential with AJSS is through the roof. I know Enscheff or others will talk about his spin rates and yadda yadda yadda, but AJ has only focused solely on pitching for a little over 2 years now. And yet he has already made the jump to the majors before his 21st B-day. I think there is a ton of untapped potential here.

Dumb question but if you could get him for AJS, Elder, and one of the pitchers not named Waldrep, would you do it?
