It was the right move for Trump to to choose cowardice... he really cannot defend much of his record and would have taken quite a few blows.

He knew his cult wouldn't be dissuaded. Good for Trump. Sucks for the American people

I'm sorry but our democracy is already crumbling because of who is in power.

There are times for what you describe (as I say there are times for Libertarianism). This is not one of those times when we have an invasion on our border (DELIBERATELY CAUSED BY THE REGIME) as well as obvious weaponization of DOJ against the leading opposition. This is not the America of even 10 years ago.

We can’t have debates because our democracy is at stake is just not an argument I’ll ever agree with. It doesn’t even make sense as anything other than a scare tactic.

Anything that hurts Trump from winning the general (and Biden has already clipped pieces from RDS/Halley) is a bad thing.

I'm not sure how else to describe that based on what we've seen since he took control.
 
Since our country is truly at stake, I think it is unforgivable that Trump ran again know his age, legal issues, and opposition.

A true america first person would have stepped out, and put his energy and devotion to a candidate who can get the job done

but

It’s easy to blame Trump but the Republican Party has been trash for a long time and they are fighting tooth and nail to give up their once held monopoly over the purse and power strings. That’s the real story that’s happening and it’s a long drawn out war.

Is 8 years as the head of the party not enough time for them to get their **** together?

I'd say the party is much less effective today than it was in 2016, and certainly much less powerful

Can I blame Trump for endorsing McConnell, Paul Ryan, Kevin McCarthy? And hiring the CCP wife to be in his cabinet? Should I not expect better out the MAGA disruptor?
