Because that would require a manager that isn't stuck in the 1980s.

Apparently 80 SB attempts to increase his base running value by 5 runs over the course of the season is justification for risking the best offensive player on the planet...because "dynamic".

Ben asked O’Day about his favorite SEC ballparks - and O’Day said Dudy Field was the best - and then went on for two minutes about how great it was - the park itself, how knowledgeable and passionate the fans are, the total experience being second to none -even Starkville itself - it was a very glowing endorsement to the level of making me want to load up the truck and head south for the LSU series !

I agree, but do you actually think he would follow Snitker's (and by extension the franchise's) orders. Acuna is a generational talent, but he strikes me a bit of a stat chaser.

Acuna can sit out all spring. Let white, Wall, and Martinez all battle it out with as many at bats as they can get
 
Acunas MRI showed his meniscus irritation and hes going to visit the same Dr that did his knee surgery. At least its not the ACL.

Stealing in ST, and then he got in a prolonged run down. If they're gonna let Acuna run, at least tell him to not get in run downs... take the damn out and move on

Hes wanting a new contract but running like he does makes it a huge risk going forward. I think AA waits a couple of years to see how the knee holds up.
 
The management of the health of the best player in the game is verging into the realm of incompetence. I’m extremely disappointed with the way the Braves are handling Acuna.
 
Hmm, I wonder if it would be wise to give Acuna 1-2 extra days off per month during the season? Maybe it would be nice to have an actual MLB 4th OFer? Maybe if the dinosaur manager could competently manage a bench the Braves could have someone like Grichuk for $2M.

We are witnessing the potential ramifications of having a dinosaur manager this very moment.
