It looks like it might be his best breaking ball in terms off stuff+, and is his only pitch that actually sinks.
His curve is the most interesting thing to learn about in the first week of the regular season. Kelenic is the most interesting thing to watch in the first half of the season. And Waldrep is the most interesting thing to watch in the second half of the season. Tons of interesting things with this team…including all the winning.

Looked great early then unforced Errors rattled him and he fell apart with 2 outs… very similar to Philly… needs to work on the mental part of his game. Gets rattled easy.

I think Foltynewicz' problem was head-related. I just think Elder has a narrow margin for error on the physical side of things. Foltynewicz had good raw stuff, but didn't appear to have the composure to keep it all together.
The best precaution the team could take to prevent knee soreness would be to stop him from attempting 80 SBs to accumulate 0.5 wins of additional offensive value.
