GDT 3/29/24: Braves @ Phillies - Opening Day

Guys. Things are different around here. Thought this thread would be way more panicked. Good win. Now sweep these dummies.

I don't see how anyone can be panicked with this team.

Even with a slight regression from last year's numbers, this offense is still probably the best in baseball. Losing Murphy sucks, but having D'Arnaud isn't a bad thing.

TDA sucked last year though. And we miss the superior defense.

There will be few injuries this year that don't hurt because there are few players on the roster who aren't excellent players.

Phillies seem to think they own Strider even though he literally had only 2 hard hit balls all night against him. 1 of those just happened to be a homer with a runner on.

I’m sure there are folks around here who actually panic, but there’s no real reason to. This team is beyond good. At this point, the only thing that will stop them is injuries - see the 2022 playoffs - or an insanely out-of-the-norm cold streak. Even with Murph’s injury, they have a borderline All-Star to step in and carry the weight until he returns. It’s crazy.
