GDT #19 4/21/14: Marlins (Koehler) @ Braves (Teheran), 7:10

Maybe defensible with a good bunter, even though it lowers the chances of scoring slightly. Supposed to know your personnel as a manager, I think I heard somewhere.

In a vacuum that's true, but Heyward hasn't been swinging the bat well. It's a moot point since Fredi actually didn't call for a bunt there, but still you have to take into account who is hitting and how much are they currently struggling. Granted, you also have to take into account who is on the on deck circle.

I will sticky it. I'm also working with a developer to create a Fredi button next to the reply and quote buttons that would directly link you to the Fredi thread.

I honestly don't know how else you could accommodate those who complain about the Fredi bashing. Do they honestly expect you to just get rid of and piss off posters who complain about their coach? I've visited boards like that and they are boring with very few posters. Scout certainly wasn't like that. Plenty of manager bashing.

It would be nice if they could give you at least a bit of time to continue to fix the issue.

No idea. I've wanted one since last year. I am trying to at least solve the problem.

The thing I don't get about Fredi bashing is that people actually think the next manager will be better. Just face it, we will never have a manager who manages how the fans want. We aren't handicapped by Fredi, 99% of baseball managers are idiots. The nats fans thought their manager was the worst mets fans think Collins is the worst manager. Phillies fans thought Manuel was the worst manager. Marlins fans.... well I can't find any of them but I bet if they existed they hate Redmond. Why waste hate on Fredi that could be better spent ostricizing Uggla.

I just don't think saying a decision of his was wrong is so bad. Especially when a lot of his calls seem questionable, as they do to me.

You and I both know there's a difference between saying his decision was wrong and then seeing some of the stuff that goes on here.

I'm on my phone on here 90% of the team, so moderating is kind of difficult.

Oh definitely, people get upset. He makes a lot of decisions I disagree with, and the board seems pretty split both ways. People have to respectfully disagree more but the Fredi supporters aren't always better than the Fredi bashers.

I just looked up Heyward's numbers by season compared to other RF's.

2010 - Well above average .849 OPS (7th out of 29 qual RF)
2011 - Well below average .708 OPS (Would have been 26 out of 31 qual RF)
2012 - Average. .814 OPS (13th out of 30 in OPS for qual RF's)
2013 - Average .776 OPS (17th out of 29 for qual RF's)
2014 - Well below average .570 OPS (32 out of 39 qual RF's)

So he has 1 well above average, 1 well below average and 2 average and is on the road to another well below average.

Fredi supporters have to try to one up or at least equal the level of Fredi bashing.

I think if the extreme Fredi bashers weren't so extreme, then the Fredi defending wouldn't be that crazy either.

Heyward missed almost 2 months due to freak injuries.

Remember that second half winning streak we went on? Heyward played a huge part in that, as that was when he was moved to leadoff.

Being a manager without making questionable calls is impossible. I just don't see why some people get so worked up about every bad call he makes.

Because if the team was managed by the message board, we'd go 162-0.

And because people feel more free venting on the internet than in real life. I can't imagine some people would be in their rooms chanting WHAT THE EISGNOINGAOIFNVSOINTORWFAPOSHNOBQWA FREDI!!!!!!1!11!!111one111!! Where you can type it on here, be SUPER LOUD, and have everyone see your point.

That's a pretty simplistic analysis.
Also using this year at all right now should not be done. A lot of good players get off to slow starts. I guess Robinson Cano should be worried?

If you want to see something uglier than Fredi's decision making, watch Brian Jordan on the post-game show trying to analyze anything.

Well, there is a good chance that Meta is dead so that's not helping the moderator situation.
