GDT: 5/7/2024 - Red Sox at Braves; time to REYN[aldo] in the offense

The good news out of this offensive slump?

Matt Olson is gonna have an epic 2nd half of the season as his criminally low BABIP normalizes. He has the highest EV on the team and yet one the lowest BABIPs in baseball at the moment.
 
People here are so "what have you done for me lately". For the month of May, which is a grand total of 5 games, Acuna is hitting .381/.409/.571 and Riley is hitting .350/.409/.600. The only person with a batting average above .200 is Kelenic at .222 in that stretch. So the problem the last 5 games atleast is not Acuna and Riley. They seem to be busting out of their slumps. They were almost literally the entire offense the last 5 games.

I just hope when the offense finally does all come together the pitching stays as good as it has been. I know there were some bumps in LA but Elder is a dude we just have to live with. Fried seems to be trying to get his crap together. I think the team needs to consider Giles and IL Matzek for a bit. He just needs more time to see if he can ever get back, but that needs to be in the minors somehow.

The batting order still needs some attention though.. The Braves can't have Arcia hitting that high but they also can't have Olson and Harris with one RHH in between them.. I still think moving Olson to the 2 hole and just hope he figures it out soon is the best lineup right now. Then Chipper needs to get with Harris and Ozzie on pitch recognition.
 
Acuna/Olson/Riley/Ozzie/Ozuna/Harris/Catcher/Arcia/Kelenic or Duvy

Olson would never see a lefty again.. if they bring in a lefty for Kelenic then counter with Duvy and Acuna to punish that move.
