Eh… just charge them at your home.

Disregarding the additonal strain on the power grid all these stations would cause, we would still need a minimum of about 10k public charging stations per state (a lot more in TX/CA, less in RI/HI) to accommodate every day use, given how long it takes to charge EVs.

I'm not opposed to alternate fuel energies. It would be amazing to break free from Big Oil. But the infrastructure simply isn't there to accommodate the massive EV mandates that Dems are pushing within the next 10ish years, at least not without spending 100's of billions of dollars. And it's all in the name of a problem that may or may not even exist. And if the problem does exist, humans may not even have any significant say in changing it.

500,000 charging stations doesn’t seem like an insurmountable issue. Tesla built 50,000+ with relatively low overall EV adoption. If the public wants to drive EVs then private companies will meet the demand.

No idea how to solve the power grid problem but I know if there is money to be made, smart people will figure it out.

It would also seem to me that a much better investment would be into public transportation. It's 2024 and the US is still one of the only developed nations to not have a bullet train? Why?

Imagine how much more tourism you could promote if you reduce the time it takes to get between major cities like Chicago and NY to only a couple hours or less. Imagine waking up in Atlanta on a Saturday and being able to grab some authentic cajun food in New Orleans and making it back in time to catch the Braves game that night.

California should be completing their bullet train any day now. They started it 12 years ago and have invest something like $60B so gotta be close

100% don't understand why we don't have bullet trains - Also we need to be digging underground more (like Musk has done in Vegas) to allieviate traffic.

We spent $33b to get 1000 ft of track laid for the SF to LA train. I think I’m good with that being a one and done

That's California for you. I would love to see the receipts on that venture. Someone pocketed a **** ton of cash.

You think the feds would do any better?

I would like to think so, but no one could be any worse than California.

And understand, there is already enough infrastructure in many areas to accommodate high speed trains without having to lay a ton of new track and clear land.
