2024 Field

From the outside looking in, Youngkin seemed to have success because of the liberal agenda he railed against and got the parents on his side once he exposed what was actually going on

The govt double helped him when they allowed the federales to investigate the crazy moms at the school board meetings

The list of VP candidates that was released is pretty underwhelming, Tim Scott notwithstanding.

Rubio is the biggest name on the list, but he doesn't have much to hang his hat in terms of policy. Seems like he's more interested in being a career politician.

I have zero clue why Ben Carson is on this list, other than some sort of token of respect for Carson's unwavering support of Trump. But Carson is not super well liked anymore and has always struggled in debates. Granted a debate with the cackler should be fairly easy to win, but he's never been a politician before. I don't see how he helps the ticket at all, other than being a lapdog.

Kari Lake is not a winner and is too controversial.

Noem has been a trainwreck lately.

No one knows who Doug Burgum even is. Seems like Pence 2.0. Extremely bland

Tom Cotton, Byron Donalds and JD Vance aren't terrrible options I suppse. But only Vance comes from a state that would help Trump in voting. I know Ohio is very red, but it's a rust belt state and he could appeal to those voters.

Tulsi and Scott remain my 2 favorites and stand to give Trump a decent bump in minority voting. And Tulsi owns Kamala in debates.

That signed the abortion bill in 2024. And much to Thethes disappointment, youngkin was doing a good job before then too

He didn't piss off the suburban women with abortion bans either.

JD Vance is the guy

Where are all the people that told me there was no difference mentally between Biden/Trump?

Trump aint no spring chicken but he is an actual cognizant human being.

My guess is Gavin would do even worse than Biden but at this point the left has no choice.
I can’t even imagine a person existing that would either be (1) excited to vote for Biden I.e. turnout or (2) Biden or bust.

If (D) holds out long enough they can let Joe tank negative press and have a shiny new toy with Gavin that might get their base, specially young people and women out to vote

Maybe I'm not privy to the process but isn't it too late?

They cant get these guys on the ballot now

Technically the Dems have until the National convention to nominate someone else. It would be messy and unheard of in US History. Likely with a bunch of hearings involved. But in that scenario, the optics of passing over Kamala, a black woman, for Gavin, a white guy, would be a nightmare, imo.

Older black people are familar with Biden and go out to vote for him - Thats how he pushed off Bernie in 2020.

Then you'll have on the fence republicans who have seen what happened to Cali and will NEVER vote for him.

I also don't see a woman that would have voted for Trump before that will witch to Gavin.

Also - Laugh about this all you want but Trump is "cool" to young people (men) so Gavin is not going to draw young people (men) to him moreso than Biden (IMO).

HOw convenient that Bannon is getting sentenced to jail for the time remaninging until the election.

The people that run the West are flat out criminals and need to be destroyed.

He also pushed off bernie by having Klobuchar and Buttigieg stay in the race until right before super tuesday then drop out and endorse him. Buttigieg ran out of money but was polling well, Klobuchar was polling well in the midwest. Conversely Warren stayed in who was running on the more liberal platform which took from Bernie a bit.

The woman vote won't be apart of anything related to Biden. Biden is the not Trump vote. The D party really doesn't know where to go after. Newsome is an option but he's a California governor and will have a ton of **** against him.

I think if I were to bet now, most likely (if they run) candidates I see for winning the dem primary are either Warnock or Whitmer.
