GDT #21, 4/23/14: Marlins (Eovaldi) @ Braves (Harang), 12:10

I think there is maybe some truth to the idea of him having a month or two leash and is getting every opportunity to prove his value and worth before the cord is cut.

His OPS is .616 so far. He's looked better at the plate, but so far the results have not been good. I think he needs to be above .700 to stay in the lineup given his defensive issues.

I think 700 is still pathetic considering what he gives up in the field.

I'd say .750, but I always have to remember how much I despise Uggla as a player and not let that color my view. I can subscribe to sturg33's view that this is all about Uggla getting every chance to succeed and then move his butt if La Stella is deemed ready.

I still have questions about La Stella, but I'm ready to hand the job to him.

It's a noon game, c'mon man. We also haven't had many off days either and have played some extra inning games. Guys need some rest, every manager in baseball tends to do this.

They're playing something like 16 straight days. Have a clue.

I don't think anyone on the current roster is a better option than Uggla. But I think LaStella would be

I don't get the love for LaStella. Why couldn't he beat Pastronicky for a spot on the roster? I understand he wasn't going to supplant Uggla coming out of ST, but if laStella is so good why didn't he make the roster?

Because you'd rather a good hitting prospect playing ever day than riding the bench
