GDT #21, 4/23/14: Marlins (Eovaldi) @ Braves (Harang), 12:10

The biggest problem I've seen all year with this team offensively is first-pitch swings. Some guys have a lot of success with that (Freeman for example), but they have to be patient. When they are, we are fantastic at driving up pitch counts. Just need to do it.

Another wasted opportunity. As good as this team is, they HAVE to start taking advantage. We have really good hitters yet we don't capitalize.

I get that it's difficult for Doumit to get into any sort of hitting groove as infrequently as he bats. However, I've yet to see an AB from him in which he didn't look lost and overmatched. He knew his role on the team going in and he's done nothing to strengthen his case for additional PT.

Just read on the Braves Facebook page someone wrote "Fire Wren, howcome the Marlins consistently get guys like Beckett, Josh Johnson, Nolasco, Fernadnez, and Eovaldi and we can't?"
