Any (D) want a re-do on your primary?
BL said we should pick better ! But I’m sure he saw last nights condition. LOL
Because it actively harms our citizens , who by being born here and pay taxes here should come first
This is our fundamental disagreement. I do not morally believe that someone being harmed in California should be considered any more important than someone being harmed in Colombia and do not agree with the ethical value in that particular brand of social contract theory.
Nonsense. The US government quite literally works for US citizens, no Columbia citizens. They are paid by US citizens, and they should prioritize US citizens

This is absolute garbage.
Do you have kids?
To clarify my positions on both immigration and war, I understand there’s a difference between ideology and governance. If you opened up all the borders and stopped spending on defense, the world would implode because not every person will share in that idealistic vision. I’m not naive to human nature or what the scarcity of resources will inevitably lead to in practice.
That does not need to change my belief system, though. Often in practice we’re talking about (relatively) minor changes in policy because the system isn’t designed for sweeping, radical change. So why wouldn’t I vote based on my ideals? Why should I, a person who is not writing policy or pressing any important buttons, cast a vote for someone who is *less* likely to bring about the changes I would want in the world or argue online not to bring about those changes? Having “noble” intentions is as far as I’m realistically going to get.
I do, and I spend my time working to provide the best life for them that I can. I care about my children more than I care about a child in Palestine or Mexico. But I do not care about the children two houses down from me more than I care about those children in other countries, nor do I expect my neighbors to care more about my children than others. We’re ultimately arguing over spheres of influence, and I don’t share in the opinion that fellow Americans I don’t personally know and care about should be any more important to me than non-Americans I don’t personally know or care about.
My belief is that all world governments should exist solely to make the world a better place for all people. I’m making arguments solely about ethics, not civics. As I said, I’m aware that’s not how the world is set up.
BL is awfully quiet this morning.
This is psychopathic
They say there aren’t any anti American classes at colleges!
eh. Since y'all seem to be dying to hear my thoughts i'll repeat a few thangs i've said before and add a few. Biden's never been the brightest bulb and he's been past his sell date for a while now. I was surprised (even shocked) when he decided to run for re-election. I think he put his ego ahead of the country. So now we have this unfortunate choice. It is an easy choice for me. But still an unfortunate one.
This is psychopathic
Then are you not obligated to take some sort of stance based on how the world actually is set up?
Why? If the family two houses down moved away to Switzerland and a Swiss family moved in to that house, when should I make the mental shift to care more about the new family living near me than the old one? Immediately? Next week? Never?
