Gee, Nsacpi. I wonder why I keep criticizing the DC legal system. They took a statute that had nothing to do with protestors in order to give a felony charge to trespassers.

Good, we over-charged most of them anyway.

I actually don’t really disagree with SCOTUS on the case involving homeless people in Grants Pass, Oregon, based on the reasoning in the decision. However, any efforts to criminalize homelessness seem on their face to completely miss the ****ing point. Nobody is really sleeping on the street because they want to and it would seem to me that if we’re going to put them in jail for up to 30 days for doing so that you’d might as well just let them sleep in the jail to begin with.
I think there has to be a balance in regulating behavior in public spaces. We all have to share those spaces.
I agree, but simply “cracking down” on homelessness just isn’t effective at reducing it, unless your end goal is to increase the prison population that we all pay to support in the first place.
I agree. But there is a pretty wide range of approaches that different cities and towns will take. Up until this decision the courts have made it pretty difficult for them to regulate behavior in public spaces.
Yeah, I think the decision is ultimately a sound one. I just hope this doesn’t open the floodgates for a wide range of draconian responses to the problem.

I look forward to reading all the mainstream analyses about our radical right-wing SCOTUS bailing out treasonous J6'ers, never acknowledging that the 6-3 decisions would've been 9-0 if the Court was comprised of nine Ketanji Brown Jackson's.
Shame ACB was pushed so much from federalist society.
It’s very difficult to know who you can rely on in DC for good advice.
Let’s hope trump gets a better recommendation when he replaces another justice in his next term
It’s a damn shame conservatives of yesteryear were so useless.
ACB and Kavanaugh are both trash. Gorsuch is a stud.
Big missed opportunity
It's true that the Supreme Court has resulted in some wins. That was made possible by the GOP winning the presidency in 2016. Kudos to Trump for doing so.
Since then, election have resulted in nothing but losses. But im.glad we at least got 3 non communists on the court in the process
