The Biden Presidency

Waiting for mqt to explain why this is perfectly reasonable

I’m not against voter ID statutes in a vacuum. I’ve always been willing to listen on that front, but have always been skeptical of the implementation and enforcement methods. If those parameters were well-defined and equitable, I’d support it. I don’t think the problem is wide-spread enough to justify added expenses to American citizens to exercise their right to vote. If tbat were resolved in the process, that seems like a reasonable requirement.

How bout enter your SS# at the machine, and then you can vote?

Does it add expenses to liquor stores ?

I think this is an uncharitable take away of my main point. If you can safeguard citizens from bills that would make obtaining necessary ID an expensive process (something that doesn’t take much imagination) then I agree it’s the best path forward. Rather than scoff at the suggestion, just compromise on making it free and easy to obtain and you can get the election security you’re asking for.

No one makes it hard or expensive except Dems when they assume black people cant find the dmv or operate a computer

They aren’t serious takes.

Using any loophole possible to legally suppress voter turnout has been a play since the dawn of time. If you don’t think states could find clever ways to implement a de facto poll tax, I don’t think you’ve paid attention.

I believe the military only takes immigrants who are here legally.

I am for enforcing our immigration laws too. In fact, I think they should be modified to process bogus asylum claims more quickly.

However, I also think it should be noted that illegal immigrants are a benefit to the economy. Many small businesses would lose significant chunks of their workforce if they were deported en masse. Small businesses are one of the GOP's favored constituencies. This is why I don't think there will be any sort of large deportation program even if the GOP does very well this fall. We already deport a significant number of illegal immigrants. There will be some tweaks. But the large numbers (10 million or so) that currently live and work here will mostly be unaffected. Cuz we need them. Especially the small businesses that employ them in large numbers and pay them under the table.

If small businesses are running margins so thin that they can't survive without illegal labor, then maybe those businesses should not survive.

And the notion that only illegals will work these jobs is not based in facts. It's just Democrat rhetoric that gets regurgitated again and again.

100%.

“Black people cant work computers, nor find a dmv. “

Their voters then rinse repeat like morons.

Walmart literately only is profitable as **** cause they suppress wages and put their workers on gov't assistance

it ain't just small business that shouldn't survive

if you business can't survive without paying workers enough to pay rent/mortage, bills and enough to put towards retirement and have a comfortable life

it isn't a viable business imo

Then prepare to pay exuberantly more for the cost of food and groceries.

Menial jobs should not require what you would call a "liveable" wage. They are designed to be temporary jobs, not permanent, because they require such little skill. Trade schools are almost free at this point

But to your point, I would be fine with Walmart being forced to shutdown a lot of stores.
