At a minimum, if we stopped ADDING to the debt, then our interest payments won't keep snowballing into consuming a third of our budget

If we stopped having deficits with interest consuming more than our defense budget, countries may start buying our bonds again.

If countries start buying our bonds again, the US doesn't have to print the money to buy our own bonds, which is what we are doing today

But we must get pur debt to gdp down to something more historically reasonable so that the interest alone doesn't bankrupt us.

Of course, that still puts us in a rough position, but it's at least manageable as the world's major economic power.

Now it's my turn... how does spending more solve the debt crisis? Are you all in on MMT now?

What you just stated above would literally put the smallest of dents in the debt crisis. But 'muh principle' people only know one thing. LESS GOVERNMENT!

You literally jsut displayed how small minded you are. IT WOULD DO ALMOST NOTHING.

One and one thing along is going to solve the debt crisis and it has nothing to do with the size of government.

We have had no innovation since the 20th century for sure, which is why we've need big daddy government to keep spending more to protect us, I guess.

Glad to hear you're on board with the party that we need not concern ourselves with spending and size of government anymore
