2024 Field

Eh - I think RDS/Youngkin chances took massive hit. Vance was already the likely torchbearer for the 'Trump' voter. This just seals it. And when hes part of the admin that deproted 5-10M illegals he will win in comfortable margins. Youngkin most likely will aim for VP to setup for 36 cycle.

It’s quite been a while since we elected the incumbent VP as president (I think GHWB was the last?).

While true I'm not sure thats determinative in any way.

Vance has had a growing appeal amongst the base for quite some time. This is only going to escalate it to the point I'd be shocked if anyone else was the nominee in 28.

Correct, in fact Biden was the first person elected since George HW Bush to have been in a white house. Clinton and Bush were governors, Obama was a Senator, and trump was reality TV host.

It’s advantageous in many ways. It definitely will move him to the front of the line. I’m just stating there’s a voter psychology that he has to reckon with and I think both Youngkin and RDS will continue to build a reputation with strong governorships.

Term 2 is going to be amazing.

The landscape is known and Trump will have people who are loyal to America in key positions.

The lasting legacy of Trump will be grooming the next generation of Populist warriors.

He wasn't my first choice. Or even my 4th. But he's a far cry better than other options mentioned. If Trump wins, he'll be the youngest VP in over 200 years

I’d put him in the middle of the pack of what I assume the long list was. He’s not a thousand years old like Trump and Biden and he’s not an unqualified moron like Harris. So there’s that.

I would have been thrilled with Youngkin or RDS, but I knew RDS was never gonna happen.

I just like politicians who have actually accomplished real policy wins and I don't know of anything Vance has accomplished. That's not me knocking him, but I'm just familiar with anything he's done outside of a 180 on trump
