Braves vs the Phil Dont suck for my first game day thread!

This year's Braves team isn't a powerhouse team. It's an overcoming adversity team. The year not coming easy should help them in the playoffs

This. I feel like last year they just expected to win and weren’t hungry. This year they’ve had to fight and claw.

If only this team had not given series away against the White Sox, Rockies, and Nationals. But all that matters now is finding a way in the door.

AA has got to do everything he can to get out of that Murphy deal this offseason.

Murphy has an .840 OPS since June 19. He's been fine. His overall season line looks like **** because because he was the worst hitter in baseball in the 3 weeks after coming back from an oblique tear.

I mean if the Braves can hold on and get in the playoffs with a healthy pitching staff then who knows. What a weapon Holmes/morton/schwelly could be a potential pen pieces.

Since it seems likely that Charlie retires, I would love to see Charlie let it fly in the post-season, bringing 96+ MPH with his repertoire.

For was much grief as I have given Merrifield about having zero power, he's filled in nicely for Ozzie. And in his short time in Atlanta, Whit is currently outpacing Ozzie in bWAR.

My thought. Mort starting is not ideal. But as a reliever covering multiple innings if needed could be good.

Out of necessity. Not because he's someone we would likely ever consider bringing up. He's not even on the 40 man roster.

Necessity? Lopez had been the normal 3b lately, and he was 2b. Nacho was back, he's played 3b this season, and he was at ss. I think they were getting a look at him at 3b.

Nacho has been out with pneumonia for over a week. They don't have many other options.

Did you even read my post? I just told you Lopez (the normal 3b) was in the lineup. I just told you nacho was back at ss last night. So how was it necessuty?

127 WRC+ in Atlanta so far. Welcome production for sure

We lost Strider and Acuna early and are still contending. Where would the Phils be if they lost Harper and Wheeler basically all year?

There's not a team in baseball that could overcome what the Braves have this year. Missing those 2, then Harris/Ozzie/Riley now for 1-2 months is basically a deathknell to most ball clubs. Throw in other players as well like Minter, Murphy.
