2024 Field

I realize she is forever tied to the Biden campaign, but in what world does it make sense to constantly defend the administration of the least liked POTUS in history.

I mean its hilarious how bad they are running her campaign. Politics aside, Biden had many faults that made him a poor choice for the Dems, but his most obvious one was his advanced age. So they decide to replace him. And the person they replace him with (or really were forced to take) is a young, minority woman. And while she stirred up interest because of that, it's becoming painfully apparent that she is so far weaker than Biden at everything else. And their policies are no different. They literally copy and pasted the DNC platform and forgot to remove Joe's name on it.

For all the negatives on Biden he did better with white people and minorities than Harris. It was very predicatble to see this collapse coming.

The worst thing is people defending this as if its ok - Looking at you MQT

You can call me out all you want, I’m not changing my answer. Debates would be objectively better measures of whose policies you should support in the election if we weren’t testing the candidates on how they do in a situation they’ll likely never experience. I would have supported this if Trump suggested it too. Asking candidates to memorize their preparations for a debate is a relic of the pre-mobile age.

nascpi - What page should I turn to in the DNC platform book to find the explanation why Kamala proposes to tax unrealized capital gains?

So which one is it:

1) she doesn't have enough policy positions

or

2) they aren't all there for you to find in a neat package with indexes

But I'm glad we are raising our standards. I too would like all our presidential candidates to have all of their policy views contained within a single document with easy-to-use indexation. Maybe AI will make that possible one day.

We know she's in favor of price controls and taxing unrealized gains.

We know you support this.

Therefore, we know you are retarded

You tell us, as one of her voters

As far as I can tell, she held pretty far left positions in the run up to 2020. She’s had campaign spokespeople claim she’s backed off some of those ideas, like abolishing private health insurance and banning fracking. She’s yet to enter a forum where a journalist is able to ask her whether those policy changes are real, and if they are, ask her what made her evolve on those positions.

At the same time, new ideas have been floated, like price controls, a border wall, taxing unrealized gains, no taxes on tips. Yet again, she hasn’t been asked to explain in an unscripted forum, and her website is barren.

you want me to tell you what's in chop2chip's mind cuz i'm voting for Kamala?

eh

i'm not a mind reader

if you mean why i'm supporting her it is pretty simple...i'd take a soiled diaper over trump and she meets that standard rather easily

Literally 80% of kommela voters. It’s so pathetic.

all this is correct...i think i have a pretty good idea how she will govern but don't claim certainty

How a candidates handle pressure on the spot is pretty important, is it not? Do you really think the President of the United States won't be put in a situation where they have to think on their feet? Is that really your argument?

This isn't hard. You should be knowledgeable enough about policy and current events to answer any question on the spot. It doesn't have to be best answer or the one everyone wants to hear, but conveying confidence in your what you're saying is key. Can you imagine the CEO of a major tech company coming out using note cards in his pitch for his new product line? You can't see how unprofessional that is?

Presumably extensively crafted by the President’s advisors, and the President would not be worried about saying it in a way that is easily understood and accepted by millions of people.

Not everything is scripted.

You think notes exist in meetings between heads of state?

Not asking for a mind reading… You seem to be suggesting chop wants it 2 ways. Are one of those two ways the reality?

i don't know...maybe he had something else in mind

i responded in an attempt to get clarification

i suspect his comments were tongue-in-cheek
