Building a roster for the WC series

It's September 1st and we're in a pretty strong position for the last WC spot. I thought it would be a good time to look at possible looks for the first round playoff roster. Here's my thoughts.

Merrifield 3B
Soler RF
Ozuna DH
Olson 1B
Albies 2B
d'Arnaud C
Harris CF
Laureano LF
Arcia SS

Murphy C
Urshela INF
Kelenic OF

Williams UTIL
Tromp C

Sale
Lopez

I don't think Fried would be a great choice for a game 3 vs Philly so I have him prepared to start game 1 of the NLDS if necessary. I like having extra bench options with all the defensive substitutions and pinch running we do.

It's not for the whole postseason. The WC round only requires 3 SP. If we can set the rotation either Fried or Schwellenbach will be left off the roster to start game 1 of the NLDS. So from what we've seen in the second half so far who would you rather have going in a win or go home game 3?
 
I won’t talk about playoffs until I know who makes it and who is playing who for the most part. But I don’t think you leave him off just because if in game 3 or 2 even your starter just doesn’t have it and it is an elimination game(game 2). Then you could get Fried in and the let the other starter come back on shorter rest. I think you have to bring along the best pitchers and try not to out think yourself in this situation.

Seems a bit harsh for the person who started the WS clinching GDT. If you're really that worried about it though go ahead and delete the thread. I won't be offended. I just wanted to get my thoughts out for conversation. Don't want to curse the team.

There is exactly 0% chance a healthy Fried is left off the playoff roster.

I’m going to go ahead and completely ignore this thread, like everyone else should.

I definitely wouldn't leave him off the roster, but I'd almost certainly roll with sale, Lopez, and SS as my starters in the WC round assuming we make it and can set it up.
 
I can’t believe I’m even bothering to humor this silliness, but…

There is no world in which Fried isn’t one of the 3 SPs in the WC round. Lopez should be coming out of the BP early in the series to dominate a platoon heavy lineup that was set to face Sale/Fried. He has the experience to do so, and will force the opposing manager to either unwind the platoon lineup, or suffer the platoon disadvantage vs a guy who will mow them down.
