Did he say that in response to the pets?
Like I said earlier Haitians eat cats back home. Is it really a stretch that out of 15-20K Haitians there aren't a few doing in Springfield?
JD Vance has said he has gotten numerous calls about people complaining about it. Are those calling all lying about it?

I’ve stated my point already that there are tragic, relatable (and provable) consequences of mass influx of immigration (illegal or otherwise). I shared a video specifically about Springfield that showed these consequences that actually impact real people. All this pet story does is create a narrative that the effects of mass immigration is exaggerated.
Except when more and more validation comes out. It’s already served as the catalyst to have more conversation which you understand but can’t admit to yourself.
You don’t understand how to shape a narrative that will actually change people’s minds. It needs to be strong and not an esoteric economic argument that’s difficult for people to understand.

The narrative on illegal immigration was already heavily in favor of Trump. It’s been a winning issue this entire campaign cycle. People can relate to a friend or relative dying from fentanyl than they can about their pet being eaten.
And even more people can understand something as simple as migrants from third world ****holes are eating pets. I know I know - it isn’t happening.

This is all the worst kind of citizen and pseudo-journalism. I don’t think the Mainstream Media is any better, but there is a reason why they staff all those lawyers and researchers. Right now you have the weirdest part of the right-wing bubble stalking rural Ohio looking for any evidence that there’s an army of Haitians stealing and eating all the cats and dogs.
Even if people in Haiti eat cats, a quick friendly reminder that it’s a deeply impoverished country. They aren’t just “cat eaters” they’re hungry people finding a source of protein.

They aren’t stalking rural Ohio. They are scouring social media to find any anecdotal evidence they can find so they can send it to their favorite alternative media podcaster so they can amplify it without taking a second to think whether or not it’s relevant.

I prefer thethe's take here. Immigration on balance is a hugely positive thang. It has given a new lease on life to countless towns around this country that have been suffering decline for decades. It is actually the best thang that has happened to Springfield in a long time. There are some adjustment pains and the federal government and state government should help out. But this fuss is reminiscent of other periods of xenophobia. When we took a lot of Vietnamese immigrants they were accused of eating cats and dogs. Muslim immigrants were accused of dancing on the rooftops after 9/11. There is a sad history of this kind of nonsense in this country. Hopefully, no one does anything crazy and no one gets hurt from all the hatred and dehumanization of people who are a little bit different.
