GDT 9/27/24: Braves vs Royals - The Madness Begins

Yeah - but these are very different things ….

They are gonna play it game by gane and with our pitching that is a huge luxury and why we either need Fried back next year or an equal replacement .

Damn … San Diego swinging at everything ….

Gotta get three more outs… they better be using their closer ….

It’s over - Arizona DOWN!

Not every day that all four baseball games of major importance go our way !

Scoreboard watching SOLID

Now the heat on AZ is cranked way way up ….

Really hoping the Dbacks lose the next 2 and Mets only 1 so we dont have to play Monday. That would set us up for Sale, Fried, Lopez/SS. I love those odds.

Best case for sure is another dbag loss. Too bad tomorrow isn’t a day game. Really important to win these next two.

Nice that we atleast control our destiny now. Sale I think we can lock into a game 1. Fried would be on normal 4 days rest for game 2. I kind of wonder if they will go with SS in game 2 and give Fried the extra days rest. With Lopez going Saturday my guess is he will be on an 80 pitch count limit and they will have him available out of the pen for games 2 and 3 if needed. He has experience out of the pen. I wouldnt be surprised if he is used in game 2 if we have a chance to win the series in 2 games.

I do hope there is a way we can avoid the DH header on Monday, even if we have a spot locked up Sunday night. As of now, the Mets seem to have least likely chance to get in. The Pads and Royals both really have nothing left to play for.

I guess KC technically has seeding still on the table. But surely they would rather play Houston than Baltimore. The only advantage for KC to try and move up 1 seed is to gain HFA in the unlikely event they play Detroit in the ALCS. It would seem way more beneficial for KC to set up their playoff rotation and get their starting lineup and BP some extra rest.

What circumstance avoids the DH Monday? Best I can see is we would be up 2, but the Mets could still pass us by sweeping the DH, right?

Wouldn't we need braves and Mets to win both games, ARZ to lose both games. Even then, Monday could still be played for seeding, unless the teams agreed not to.

Is that the scenario?
