Building a roster for the WC series

Holmes should be fine for games 2 or 3 if there was one. Probably cant go Game 1 of course, unless you need like 1 emergency out.

So Sale's injury is legit? Wtf. Why the hell did we waste Schwellenbach then. Just throw game 1 and go with Holmes on game 2 and SS is good to go. Why not bring up Anderson, SS, or Elder to start game 1 of DH. Just absolute pure incompetence.

Here's my current projection for the WC roster. I am operating under the assumption that Sale SS and Holmes are all out for the WC series

Harris

Albies

Ozuna

Olson

Soler

Laureano

d'Arnaud

Urshela

Arcia

Murphy

Merrifield

Kelenic

White

Tromp

AJSS

Fried

Lopez

Morton

Chavez

Jackson

Hernandez

Lee

Bummer

Johnson

JJ

Iglesias

I was close. Braves just decided to go 13/13 and swapped Tromp for Elder. Reasonable with the bullpen stress

It's a bit comical anyone was fooled into thinking the Sale injury wasn't real. I mean...come on.

The key to having any chance to win this series comes does to either:

A. The Braves offense goes off and overwhelms the Padres, or
B. The Braves are careful not to chase a lost cause in Game 1, and save enough BP bullets to win Games 2 and 3.

Considering this offense is more likely to get shut out for 2 games than it is to win a slugfest, I think B is the most likely scenario. Either way, this is looking like a wasted flight across the country, and I can't think of a scenario where one WC team would be more of an underdog than the Braves are right now.

It likely is going to take a comical collapse by San Diego. I'm willing to bet though that AJSS will breeze through the lineup the first time through and then get wild and get blown up in the fourth when he's left in. At that point, just hand it to Elder to finish up.

Just making the playoffs feels like a win to me right now. It's whatever from here, which is kinda of sad with the hopes we had for the season going in.

We cant win it every year. Atleast they made sure we had super low expectations so it wont hurt as much this time around. I refuse to get my hopes up in the slightest bit unless we made it to game 3. This is the first time since 2021 I believe Fried has got to the playoffs fully healthy. Theres no excuses this time around. Well except the offense doesnt score a run. I feel like our need for Fried to go deep into the game is going to cost us. Like we have the lead after 7 and Fried's cruising and they send him back out for the 8th because our pen is tired and the usual playoff disaster ensues. If Fried wins this game I forever nominate him to have the nickname "Money Max". If he doesnt already have that.

Biggest problem is the lineup. I mean the bottom 4 of the lineup if some combo of Murphy/TDA, Laurenao, Urshela and Arcia. Without Riley and Acuna, the lineup just isnt good enough. Cant really blame AA for two of the best hitters in baseball getting hurt. Pitching is good enough but doesnt matter if you cant hit.

Plus AA basically used all the offseason funds on hoping Kelenic could turn into a star. Given all the contracts he moved around to get him.
