Living in Minnesota, there were nights when the wind was blowing the right way that I could pick up the WSB signal and listen to snippets of games (the signal would go in and out) on the car radio. I was constantly admonished by my dad to not run down the car battery. Undaunted, I was determined to listen to the the game when the division championship was on the line. As I wrote earlier, the signal was in and out, but I remember the Braves winning and Carty playing a key role in the victory. In the post-game celebration show, I remember Carty saying "The Beeg Boy did it!"
