Kirk Cousins is done. Betting on a guy over 35 to come back from an Achilles and be fine was dumb.

I honestly wonder if after that performance we don't see Penix play. I can't imagine the Falcons would do that as that would be a controversy and Arthur BLank is adverse to that.

Chargers are a good tema, btu that level of bad is bad. Maybe you give him one more chance but it's 3 straight games of mediocrity to crap. He wasn't that good vs. the Saints. Honestly he hasn't been that great vs. anyone other than the Bucs and Cowboys.

I'd maybe let him play next week, but if he doesn't show up vs. the Vikings (which will be hard) then bring on Penix vs. Vegas.

Yeah, at least with Penix an interception is a learning experience. I'd also move on to Penix with a bad showing by Cousins next week but I don't think the Falcons will. I don't see any way they make a mid season change absent an injury to Cousins.

Also, I'd like to point out I was right about Cousins being an awful bet and also right that Morris was a terrible hire.

Eh I don't care about Cousins. It's a risk but it wasn't a crazy risk. We aren't sunk like the Browns are with Watson. We can cut him post June1 and we're on the hook for the rest of his guaranteed, but we're not ****ed. The way the Falcons did a guarantee was smart.

Cousins was a dumb risk by Fontenot and Morris. If you draft a QB you give yourself a year or two grace period to break them in. You sign Cousins and you're expected to compete immediately. Even if they switch to Penix now, they won't get the grace period. Expectations are already set.

This makes me think that promises of an immediate fix is what let Fontenot keep his job when Smith was canned. Morris actually brought up signing Cousins in his interview explaining his plan to immediately compete. So I think it's likely that trying to win now was the only way Fonentot and Morris would get a chance. Cousins was the best hope for doing that.

Luons have 18 players on IR. Just signed 4 players from practice squads. Can't remember a team with this many defensive injuries

GB +5.5 next week is a smash bet, especially.considing DET CB1 likely out as we'll

My fantasy team is ****ing popping off this week. In my family league where we do deep rosters. This week I had

Allen
Hurts
Nico
D-Hop
Higgins
Addison
Henry
Bijan
Cook
Kittle (my one ****)
Evans
Kamara
Brian Robinson Jr.
Boswell
Koo (another let down)
Chargers (I got all the big fantasy ones there in that game)
Vikings

The niners are getting ****ing molested on national tv. I'm glad the Falcons don't have to play the BIlls, they're ****ing not afraid to put the boot on the neck.

I hope the niners don't fire Shanny.

Season from hell and guys like Deebo are washed. Love the core, still love Purdy as well.

Just get some good draft picks and knock a draft out of hte park. 2024 draft looks great so far.

Watched him for years up here in Minnesota and I was shocked when the Falcons gave him that contract. His stats have always been impressive, but he just lacks a few pieces that elite QBs possess. He seems to shrug off losses and poor performances with an "Oh, well. That's how it goes sometimes." Mike Zimmer is a cranky old-school guy and it's been conjectured (and it's likely accurate) that he simply didn't like working with Cousins and that's a big reason why he got fired. Cousins left Minnesota because he supposedly didn't feel wanted after the Vikings wouldn't cave to a contract like the one he got with the Falcons.

I don't know what he's like with the community in Atlanta, but he was very active in Minnesota, especially with conservative church groups. That made him extremely popular with a segment of the fan base.

Niners window is probably closed unless they develop some All Pro caliber skill players. 2024 class seems pretty good, though none of them are immediate stars.

It would be a colossal ****up to fire shanny. But Niners aren't known for being super smart in the ownership department like when they backed Baalke over Harbaugh.

Niners would be wise to consider rebuilding a bit. Time to move on from Deebo, Trent WIlliams, etc. They can't really cut either but they can plan on their replacements. First round pick should be an OL. After that it matters less but they probably should look to trade up from their second round pick to get another OL like the Falcons did when they got Lindstrom and McGary.

I guess I should have prefaced it with saying assuming they lock up Micah. That's my bad. Micah, Martin (who will likely extend again), and CeeDee are 3 all pro level players. And Trevon Diggs is a very good corner.

Zach Martin is 34. Diggs is a decent corner but not great.

If Shanahan had anything to do with the drafting of Trey Lance, he should have been fired years ago.

Seriously, Shanahan is a good coach (seems to have the personality of a rock, but that's just about every head coach these days) but Jimmies and Joes beat X's and O's and we've seen that with them this season. I think Purdy is good. He has an uncanny knack for the game that makes up for some of his physical shortcomings, but I don't think he can carry a team so I don't know how much should be invested in him. If he signs a mid-range contract, that would allow for some upgrades in personnel that will be needed in the near future. I generally don't feel bad for football teams, but I felt sorry for the 49ers last night.

I have no sympathy for Shanahan, so I hope teams beat the ever living piss out of him.

Also the Bills are fun as hell. Josh Allen is a great QB, since they added Cooper they seem to be having more fun. The TD allen got was awesome. Bills have holes but if Allen is rolling in the post season they should be the most fun team to watch. I'm excited for the Game they play vs. the Lions. How that isn't a primetime game is ****ing wild. Green Bay/Seattle is a good game but either CHI/MIN or ATL/LVR should not be the primetime game. Considering everyone knew LVR were ass, how Buffalo/Detroit isn't primetime is wild.

Nah man. As an unforunate Cowboys fan they need a lot of help.

Every team has needs. Unfortunately for Dallas they need a healthy Dak who played like he played last year to be competitive. But the biggest needs I see right now for them are interior defensive help to help with the run, and a running back. People forget that Dallas's success in the last handful of years they had Elliot and/or Pollard as great every down backs. Dowdle clearly isn't that dude.

If I'm dallas I'm hoping to get a stud interior DL in the first and a stud RB in the second and you're moving along.

Outside chance we could have two 2k yard rushers this year. I doubt it happens as Henry needs to average 150 yards per game the rest of the season to get there. But it isn't out of the realm of possibilities. Henry already averaged 148 yards per game from week 3 through week 7 of this year.
