Looking towards 2025

While I have a hard time believing Tucker is actually available, he's from FL, going into his age 28 season, and is the exact type of trade/extension candidate AA targets.

I would be much more excited to see Tucker than Bellinger. It just seems like he was always underappreciated in Houston for some reason...like he's a star that has to play 2nd fiddle to the Altuve/Bregman/Alvarez group despite being as good or better.

Agreed. He always seems like he’s not as good as the others and he absolutely is. Tucker is a top 10 OF’er in baseball.

question is how many Brave's hats did Tucker have as a kid...

Maybe his brother Preston can convince him that his time in Atlanta was incredible and convince him to demand a trade to the Braves.

Just read the Cubs are looking to trade one of Bellinger or Suzuki. Since Bellinger is worse and more expensive they’d obviously prefer to deal him, but I’d much rather see Suzuki in LF if AA can somehow convince him to come south.

Take Bellinger’s contract in exchange for Suzuki. Give them a prospect or two. Flip Bellinger for a prospect and eat his money if you have to.

I don't buy that AA intends to exceed the luxury tax again. He might be willing to in the right situation but that situation hasn't arisen and doesn't look to arise. I think he foresaw there being no fit to spend on and is using that towards the team's long term advantage.

He could prove me wrong and if he does I hope it's worth the investment.

Yeah Suzuki's defense is not good. Might as well have kept Soler if we were looking for an all bat no glove expensive OFer.

Granted, Suzuki might be Ok in LF.

Now that Cease seems to be available that’s my top target. So trade for Cease and resign, trade for Bellinger and that shouldn’t cost prospects if we just eat the money.
