Looking towards 2025

Saw some chatter about AA locking down a very important deal just now.

Looks like he secured 3 beach chairs in Cancun for the next 3 weeks. We good folks.

Valid, however, 3.5 WAR last year.

Has always given me Chris Johnson vibes

3.0 bWAR. And that was propped up by an unsustainable first half. Go look at his 2nd half numbers. He was at 0.8 career WAR after four seasons coming into this season.

He is trash.

3 vs 3.5 is… like the same thing. He also underperformed his xOBA so not sure what’s unsustainable.

He’s a slightly above league average bat who played okay defense last year. Basically Chris Johnson.

(But also it’s crazy Dombrowski asked for Mason Miller for him)

He sucks.

Not going to lie, it would have been pretty hilarious if the A's had signed Soto to a one-year, $100 million contract just to hit whatever threshold they needed to hit to get the MLBPA off their backs.

Don’t MLB and the PA have to approve contracts? No way they would have approved that.
