I agree that funneling money seized by the government to NGOs isn’t a good practice. However, all ending this practice does is make the federal government the beneficiary of those fines. While I don’t think businesses should be allowed to put others at risk or take advantage of consumers, we need a real answer to how to penalize companies without turning enforcement of violations into a funding source.
