Offseason Hot Stove 2024-25 Thread

Kepler and luzardo would look good in Atlanta. Instead they're our opponents and we have zilch

I'm good on Kepler, but he should have been all over Luzardo. I dont know if we have the positional prospect like Caba, but if it's him and Boyd who isnt highly ranked... Thats something he should have been all over.

Yeah that sucks about Lazardo. Hopefully AA has something bigger up his sleeve. Outside of AAA guys he has been sound asleep the entire offseason.

I keep hoping we’re collecting these AAA arms because, we’re about to thin out the staff with trades of AJSS and Waldrep.

Their SP pipeline looks weak. We might line up with them well.

Bichette has been a top 5 SS the past several years until last year and is still only 26. He is a trade and extend candidate that AA loves. Arcia becomes a super sub that would suit him well. That’s the only SS upgrade that would move the needle right now.

I will apologize big time if we get him

The Jays have struck out on everybody they’ve went after this offseason and won’t come close to winning that division or probably a WC and Bichette is in his walk year so get what you can now.

Once BB is traded, everyone will say the price was too high and glad AA didn’t do it. Then in July when Arcia sucks balls they will say they can’t believe AA didn’t go after a SS this off season.

It is going to hurt to get good players. If it doesn’t then you get guys like Kelenic.

I agree 100%. You can’t have it both ways and want good stuff but not have to pay for it. The cost won’t be cheap but it’s a position we desperately need. Bichette is a game changing type of player.

Kepler is not good.

Luzardo is a gamble. Talented for sure, but he was terrible last year.

If the are the biggest moves the Phillies make, I would be pretty worried if I was a Phillies fan

Depends on the cost for Bichette. Dont think it'd cost Baldwin. But if you could get him for non Caminiti pitching prospects, i'd do it. Have said before AA's gonna eventually have to make a move that'll hurt but also help us short term. Bichette makes too much sense if he's available.

Career 111 wrc+ vs rhp where we struggle.

I don't really care what he did in his 20's. He is on clear decline. 3 of the last 4 years he's been pretty bad offensively. He's a 26th roster spot type of player at this point.

Ok, what 3 OFs on the braves are better?

Given their age difference, I would lay money on Kelenic having a better season than Kepler in 2025. And obviously Harris and Acuna are light-years better. But that's sort of irrelevant right now. The Braves will certainly bring in a MLB quality OFer at some point.

That would be great. I've been waiting on AA to improve the team since the ASB
