Some Red State/Blue State Indicia

Ron DeSantis gives govt and state employees extra three days off at Christmas.

Guy knows how to work a headline while also not running his state into the ground

that is a cost cutting move begun by the Chiles Administration.
Perhaps relaxed during Covid.
In my 15 years of working for the State of Florida it was a given

Good job blue states

Yeah, as I've mentioned before the democrats are going to have a hell of time winning in the '32 presidential race.

We might be able to lose the popular vote by 3-5% and still win the electoral college.

We need more Daniel Penny's but blue states want Daniel Penny in prison

It's so ****ed. You can't live in a blue city and expect yo keep your rights

I wonder if there’s a difference between violently confronting a man for being erratic and helping someone being lit on fire. I think Penny’s trial had a just outcome but he didn’t save the day. He did what he thought was best in a stressful situation and it led to an unwell man losing his life. That’s not a parallel to a horrifying murder being done just because it was in the same place.

her family should feel comfort in the fact that this was statistically improbable

I’m going to start using this rationale for everything else. “Can you believe New York City has a ‘public’ transit system where someone was murdered? I think we need to get to the bottom of why we have this Marxist plot to destroy cities by getting violent criminals from one location to another and close down all subways in all US cities.”

The city has made clear that if you try to help someone from a deranged lunatic, you may be risking life in prison

What if, gasp, the illegal guy tried to stop someone from helping the lady, got knocked out and died (trust me I know how upset that would make you)? Does the good samaratan need to plan for a year of his life being destroyed, millions in legal fees, and maybe getting acquitted?

The city has made clear what behavior should be avoided

Well it's pretty obvious that public transit leads to more **** for law abiding people

So it’s the fault of public transit itself then. Just as a violent immigrant is the fault of all immigrants or helping poor people in need.

you can define it however you want. the reality is that when you build a public train system, it brings the rif Raf into otherwise peaceful areas. It's why residents outside of SF keep working to not allow one that connects them to the city

Public transit brings poor people. Poor people commit more violent crimes. Have we tried just banning poor people?

I'm sure there is a data set somewhere that says Oakland is safer than my local country club!

There are lots of anecdotes of crime everywhere. Such as an Oklahoma man slaughtering his entirely family in grisly fashion. And yes the homicide rate in red states is higher and the gap over blue states is widening. ymmv. iiwii.
