Offseason Hot Stove 2024-25 Thread

I wouldn't be shocked to see some more details start to trickle in now that the holidays are over. I hope this gets AA off his ass (kidding, sort of).

I am still hoping to see a Hyesong Kim signing from the Braves.. mainly to get back in the Asian market and to hopefully push Asscia to a utility role that suits him better. Kim is clearly a gamble, but is young and could be a good top of the lineup guy if he shows he can get on base like he did with KBO

I find it absurd that the team, which came into the offseason with arguably the best roster in the game, has yet to make any impactful moves and may have even lost wins. Circumstances are what they are, and we're not privy to everything behind the scenes, but so far, this feels like a failure. There's still time, but this has been an odd situation.

Usually by now we’ve already made an impact move or 2 and we’ve only worked on depth which needed to be addressed also.

I appreciate the depth moves because I think they'll be more impactful than we expect, but they clearly need help at RP, SP, and OF. You’d think at least one of those would’ve been addressed by now. Of course, they can ease minds quickly...

The phrase is “get two birds stoned at once.” I think Chip coined it.

Signing Scott plus someone like Profar plus some Morton-like SP would be the absolute minimum acceptable offseason for a team at this point in their contention cycle.

In a sport that loves to be boring, AA is by far the most boring. Not only does he do nothing, but he acts like a beech when any news gets out to the fans.

Jeff Hoffman (for the rotation) seems like a good buy, if he’s seeking a Clay Holmes-esque deal, as reported. Wouldn’t preclude them from going after Scott, either.
