Offseason Hot Stove 2024-25 Thread

I really don't think Hoffman was involved in any way with what that guy on Twitter said. He kept talking about two and it seemed like most agreed the two he was talking about were Verlander and Scott, who was the 9.5.

So it comes down to the timeline here. Was Hoffman before all that, or did the Scott stuff fall apart and he pivoted to Hoffman, which also fell apart?

He said the 9.5 guy is still in play. We'll see Wednesday but
I bet it's already agreed on.

More Bowman:

"Another source said the Braves’ deal with Hoffman would have been a five-year deal worth $45-48 million. The right-hander could have been given a chance to start before spending his final years of the deal as a reliever."

Would fit AA's pattern of staying on the trail of guys. He worked on that Sale trade for like two years, supposedly and was reportedly in on Cease for a while.

It is strange that there were Cease rumors of him being available and then they just went away and any talk of Scott went away. AA likes it quiet so I hope Wednesday it breaks loose.

So it's down to the Dodgers, Padres, and Blue Jays for Sasaki. There's no way he's going to Toronto so it's a 2 team race which we all thought it would be. Dodgers are gonna become pretty hated by most people if they get Sasaki to but that's the way it goes.
