Did I ever absolve them of guilt regarding forest floors or fire hydrants? My position is that there needs to be an investigation into what was done vs. what wasn’t done regarding readiness for extreme fires.
I am compelled by some of the arguments that what appeared to be an immediate lack of water might have been due to the system not being able to manage that many fires simultaneously. But I’m no expert and would welcome any verified information that shows it was genuinely a water supply issue caused by CA environmental efforts.
I still don’t understand how you can just openly dismiss the conditions, though. Was it Abbott’s fault that Texas experienced extreme wildfires last year? I assume there weren’t too many DEI programs in the woods of Texas and Oklahoma.

What we know is the state intentionally chose not to clear the forests. Intentionally chose not to fill water reservoirs. Intentionally chose to pay $750k (wtf) to a water chief to promote DEI. Intentionally chose to promote a firefighting staff who admits to not being able to do the job. Intentionally chose to let criminals loose to start new fires (proven) and loot (proven). Intentionally chose to tell insurance companies they can't offer service necessary for the risk.
