Offseason Hot Stove 2024-25 Thread

Didn't he specifically request that no current players be used in the recruitment pitches? Or was that only for the team entourage visits to Japan?

The Dodgers just won the WS and are about to sign two more aces in the same off-season (Snell and Sasaki)

It's just bananas

I just want this **** to be over with. It's annoying and clearly holding up other deals.

Every year there is a player or 2 that holds everything up it seems. Yeah I'll be glad when the dude signs bc AA has something cooking and it's bc of this.

I think the Pads end up with Sasaki and we land Cease and Suarez in the aftermath. We send out AJSS, Nacho, and a couple of mid tier prospects in the process.

The latest he can sign is the 23rd. Earliest is today. But i hope he signs soon, even if it's the ****ing Dodgers. He's clearly holding up the rest of the market.

I don't know why he would wait any longer. He should already know where he wants to go.

The Dodger$ told him to wait until the 23rd and then they will announce it... But they want him to keep teasing the Friars so that it will clog up FA... Dodger$ holding a master class in owning an off season and trolling. You guys don't hold your breath that a decision will be announced today. Most likely we will hear news that he is still weighting his options and it could take a few days.

IDK... seems the sending a bunch of players was more of a Hail Mary. I think padres get em

Reasonable price. It's always a roll of the dice with the international signings (see the whole Coppalella class and most of the recent big buck guys) and an extra roll with Cuban players, but the Braves still have $3+ million after this signing to spread around. Big kid for age 16 and wonder how much physical growth potential is there. From what I've read, scouts think he will get even bigger. As long as he doesn't go Miguel Sano and balloon up to the 300 pound range, that's not a bad thing.

Supposedly they have 1.8 million or so going to the kid who can throw over 100. But that's not official yet. That would leave them with ~1.9 for anything else.
