Offseason Hot Stove 2024-25 Thread

Supposedly they have 1.8 million or so going to the kid who can throw over 100. But that's not official yet. That would leave them with ~1.9 for anything else.

Baseball America's signing tracker has them signing RHP Randy Reyes and I believe that's the guy you are talking about. It also has them signing two SSs--Angel Carmona and Manuel Campos.

Just saw a tweet about an OF signing, too.

I'm guessing there won't be any international money leftover to trade if anyone was holding out hope there.

The Braves have done a nice job rebuilding their international talent after Coppy's dumbass handicapped us for so long.

Just wish we'd see some progress from them. Ambioris Tavarez and Guanipa haven't done much. Perdomo barely played last year because of an injury.

We are getting very little from the international side right now. I think that's why we hired that AGM over international scouting from the Giants.

Today's haul, thus far:
Cuban outfielder Diego Tornes
Dominican OF Elias Reyno
Dominican SS Yassel Garcia

They're likely looking at P Raudy Reyes, SS Angel Carmona and SS Manuel Campos, as well.

Throwing some good talent into the system so far. I love that AA is going high end bats on the international front and high end pitching in the draft.

I thought the idea was AA would trade FOR more international money to scoop up 1-2 guys the Padres or Dodgers abandoned. He will use guys from the 40 man to acquire that money, which will open up room to announce the Scott signing.

Isn't that the working theory from the interweb fanbase?

Big news coming! Now please click the link to my blog...

I'm just trying to figure out why in the hell we're still waiting for a single damn impactful move. It's pretty asinine. We've not had a single MLB transaction since Dec. 20. lol

And see something generated by AI! I really laugh at all the ridiculous headlines I see on some of the sports news sites. Like a dummy I click and see it's a "projected" trade that has no bearing in reality.

Have they? None are doing anything yet

While true, I can say that I've seen something from each of them. Not otherworldly stuff and they may not make it but I can see why the Braves are at least back in the market. For a first swing back into it, Tavarez is so good at ss...just can't hit. And when he gets going, he gets hurt. Ditto Guanipa. Not really as down on that front as others but yes, the money invested hasn't paid off in any meaningful way.

It's funny the the second-tier signings (Gil, Lara, Fuentes) have looked better than the top-tier guys. Perdomo was hurt, so he gets a mulligan. Guanipa has done alright. Tavarez, Benitez, and Glod haven't looked good at all (at least with the bat).
