Tragic story, but the solution isn’t to let the state execute people over theft.
All you have to do is chop off some arms and 'theft' will plummet.

It’s all well and good until “not following COVID protocols” becomes the next crime you can lose an arm for.
COVID crimes will never happen again.
But nice try - Keep supporting actual criminal behavior.
Believe that all you want, but crimes aren’t naturally occurring and those in power get to dictate what is a crime. You’re rightly concerned with the 1st Amendment, but if it were me, I would not so freely give away my 8th Amendment rights given that context.
There is actually a universal understanding of what is criminality.
No, there ****ing isn’t, because that’s not how either words or sociology works. There’s a *general* understanding of criminality, but it’s informed by our lived experiences. You cannot universally understand criminality because crime is explicitly contextual.
What does mqt want us to do with this person
- breaks into someones home, steals thousands of dollars of stuff
get caught, serves some time, gets let go
- breaks into someones home, is confrtoned by home owner, and physically assaults the home owner.
gets caught, serves some time, gets let go
repeats the two crimes above an additional 6 times.
What should we do with this person?
Yes because you believe society defines universal truths like gender. Its not wonder you don't think there is a universal understanding of what is criminality.

I’d work on doing more within the criminal justice system to help this individual have better opportunities after he’s left prison, but literally the only thing I’m asking in this thread is to not execute him.
OK. we can work on making the criminal justice system better.
But what do we do now, with this person? Give him another chance?
He killed a woman, he should be in prison for life. I’m not anti-locking up people who do murders.
No I'm asking about the guy who broke into a home 8 times and assaulted 4 people. Do we give him another chance?
This is quite literally the opposite of why I believe what I believe, and your failure to understand that is rather telling. You believe because we live in a system where girls do certain activities, wear certain clothes and perform certain roles in our society that there is a universal understanding of what a girl is, centered around biological sex. But we made up the activities, clothes and roles. I’m not going to try to convince you it is wrong that we’ve done so, and just because something isn’t a universal truth doesn’t make something a bad or flawed idea, but we’re in a different arena right now from discussing what makes sense societally or is easily recognized or understood.
The human brain is a ****ing marvel, but it is still fundamentally limited by what it has observed. That doesn’t mean we throw out all the rules as utter nonsense, but I personally find it important to understand that our understanding of “universal truths” is driven by the context of our surroundings. For me, that leads to questioning why we’re willing to accept that it’s just “true” that what we’ve defined as criminal or what we’ve defined as being a man or woman in our society. And to be clear, I don’t think the answer is for there to be no rules or definitions. I’m just open to new understandings of certain things and against dogmatic statements that something is naturally true.
Once he’s served the sentence for his crime, sure. Pass new laws if you want him to have some specific sentencing. Just don’t pretend there aren’t solutions somewhere between letting him steal and letting the state execute him for stealing.

You conflate having 'masculine' traits with actually being a man. Its natural to have divergence amongst a whole population set. Its not an excuse to start chopping off gentials.
