Offseason Hot Stove 2024-25 Thread

I don't see any way that Kershaw leaves LA. He's a lifer. I don't think I've ever seen the media rip any of our GM's like they are AA right now.

Where exactly do they put him? They're already doing a 6-man rotation. You can't just have as many pitchers as you want

If you’re interested in grabbing Kershaw, now’s the time to grab him. Lifer or not, there is zero room for him in the rotation.

Surprisingly, there's still a good many players out there that could help this team. Maybe AA's patience doesn't blow up in his face

Here’s the thing - this team, as it stands right now- is one of the best in baseball and WS worthy. I don’t think AA feels any pressure to do anything other than add to the bullpen, and he may not even do that until he sees what he really has come ST-( he’s got several young arms that could easily slot there). I am of the thinking that AA may be more interested in not doing anything to dampen the not- too distant - future and he may just hoard cash and trade capital to deal with the inevitable injuries during the season.

We definitely have a very good roster when everybody is healthy. But losing Fried and Morton and the amount of quality innings they gave us are gonna have to be replaced with quality innings.

Way too many question marks to say this team is WS worthy. Strider and Acuna can NOT be expected to just come back and be normal.. We all saw Acuna on one bad knee.. most pitchers take 2 years to be fully back from major arm injuries.. expecting Strider to come in and be a Fried replacement is crazy dumb by AA... Then you are 2 men down in the pen, worst player as the starting SS and no one to play the outfield while Acuna gets back.. then when he does, you still have Kelenic as a starter.. puke...

all that and the questions if meth head can bounce back, is Olson slow swing going to show up worse this year... not to mention there is literally ZERO depth on the team at any position..

That's what I'm saying. Everything would have to break perfect and everybody be completely healthy and everybody bounce back for us to be that good. And that won't happen. Things will happen and AA has to prepare for that. He's done a good job so far this offseason with stocking AAA with a lot of depth to help with injuries on a short term basis. He still has a lot of work to do with the MLB team.

hopefully this is the year that they break baseball and something is really done... firing Mandick is job one.. then make real rule changes to create parity and that will immediately drive interest back in the game.
