When you are the custodian of the cash you ar expected to perform duties upon it’d transfer. That is literally a banks job.

Okay, the Treasury is neither a loan officer nor a bank teller then. Thank you for blowing up my analogy, I guess. But they aren’t the ones who get to decide if money is spent when the for payment is made through the proper channels.

I will admit that if it’s actually true that the Treasury department is just running an embezzlement ring, I’d be happy to see it stopped. But it sounds more likely to me that Elon is just saying **** to sound important and the treasury is not staffed exclusively by a bunch of white collar criminals that no administration, including Trump’s past one, has figured out.

It also seems like it’d be time consuming but otherwise pretty easy to prove if all that embezzlement was happening, and that if it were, Elon wouldn’t be blowing up the massive criminal investigation by publicly warning the employees he’s looking into it.

It’s Donald Trump’s second Administration. He doesn’t get a free pass if he also failed to stop the Treasury department from mass embezzlement. Otherwise it’s just the Treasury is just doing its role in this system, which is to pay the bills Congress tells it to.

Trumps first term wasn’t a peaceful transfer of power. Thats ok he’ll do 30 years worth of work this term.

I’m so glad our President is apparently so ineffective that your claim is that he could not stop a bunch of not-even-bank tellers from stealing billions in the past, or Elon Musk is just lying on his website about the treasury for clicks.

He had in large part an ineffective term while still producing excellent results. Now he has learned and has full control from the communists.

Okay, sure, but Elon can’t legally do anything with his control of the system. If DOGE shuts down payments authorized by Congress, we have a full-fledged constitutional crisis on our hands.

agreed - it’s a forcing function for the 26 midterms. That’s why the 26 date is on a lot of proclamation. Congress is going to hate that this will be in the top of voters minds as Elon tweets away.

It’s *currently* meaningless because someone who doesn’t have the authority to pay or withhold government funding is in the system complaining about the transactions being carried out by the people who have the authority only to make payments on previously appropriated funding. Further, that someone is using his for-profit website to spread/boost unfounded claims that because these people only have the authority to pay what the government told them to pay that they must be embezzling money as a result. That’s not what I’d need Elon Musk and DOGE to do, that’d just be a crime that the FBI or whatever can investigate. If the Treasury is not conducting active fraud and embezzlement, we are just back to DOGE being a PR machine for MAGA spending goals.
