Offseason Hot Stove 2024-25 Thread

Guess I'm just mad bc he fumbled the last 2 trade lines also
This is an absolutely fair observation. Criticizing AA is not an unbelievable thing. This offseason has been ass. We will see if his hunches..feelings..thoughts are warranted fairly early. I'm not feeling this offseason but maybe he proves us all wrong. I'm pessimistic, but hopeful.

Who's claiming he sucks?lmao. Saying he has sucked this offseason with so many question marks is not unrealistic.

He's tried for Hoffman, Scott, and Cease and who knows who else. The offseason has sucked and saying AA sucks is 2 different things.

1 day until pitchers and catchers report. Today would be a good day for AA to add something other than a reclamation project, AAAA filler, or someone who hasn’t seen the big leagues in two years to the bullpen. There are options out there that won’t put them over the tax. And with that, my self-imposed countdown services are mercifully over.

It all started so well when AA managed to get rid of Soler right off the bat. Since then, it's been a disappointing off-season. Maybe they are punting this year (in a sense), and gearing for a run at another ring in 2026 with a fully healed Acuna and Strider.

It’s pretty funny to read people question AA as an elite GM exactly 1 year after pulling Sale and Lopez out of thin air. Now that it’s time to dump on him let’s conveniently stop giving the GM credit for developing guys like Harris, Schwelly, Strider and hopefully Baldwin.

AA has made one bad trade with Contreras, and signed 3 questionable contracts in Ozuna, Olson and Murphy. He had a single undeniably bad offseason while likely being handcuffed by getting under the tax.

Oh, and let’s not forget that despite this bad offseason he still has the 2nd best roster in the sport.

Literally everything else has been top notch.

The Ozuna contract was a bad decision that ended up working out better than it probably should have...at least at the back end.

As recently as May 2023 anyone suggesting that Ozuna would be a Brave in 2025 would have been justifiably laughed off the board.

Guy shook himself of that crazy chick and reached his potential

I applaud your valiant efforts my good sir!

“Wonder what #1 is gonna say today” thought is now retired.

How is saying that we might could start a debate about AA not being a top 5 GM in any way calling him a crappy GM??? There is nothing wrong with looking objectively at the collective tenure.

I think he is still a very good GM.. however, there are some concerns that maybe makes me pause to declare him a top 5 GM. I mean this is the second.. maybe 3rd offseason in a row, AA has built a below average bench. This offseason has been a complete disaster

The bench excuse will be snit, but AA extended him

Kenley to the Angels on a one-year, $10M. Before anyone complains, he was apparently adamant he wanted to close. I'm guessing he pushes Ben Joyce out of that role.

yes, he wants 500 saves.. the most over rated stats next to rbi... but it makes guys like twit all gooey inside so there you go.

Pads gonna look really foolish when they are below .500 at the trade deadline and have to trade Cease to us for a package built around Bryce Elder and Garrett Baumann.
