You absolutely cannot escape the fact that the government is political entity, and relying on their report of what they’ve accomplished would be like me trusting the jobs reports each quarter for the past 4 years. You can’t just rely on the government to tell you the truth, because they’re all compromised in some way.

Nah, I’m not going to abide by this tone from someone who can’t recognize that replacing one biased source of data with another isn’t free thinking.
And actual product that he might still be able to produce without the government lining his pockets further. This isn’t meant as an apples to apples comparison, but you cannot possibly be dumb enough to think Elon and Trump couldn’t make stuff up to influence public perception of their actions, or to believe that Musk couldn’t possibly be taking more from the American taxpayer than he absolutely must to stay afloat.
Again, that’s your right, but the people running a political operation to “eliminate waste and fraud” have an incentive to do as much of that as possible, and outright lying about what they’re finding is a good way to pad the score a bit. So I’m not going to blindly believe them over the media because they aren’t getting some type of funding from USAID.
Insofar as he is very willing to open his mouth and say he’s being transparent. I don’t suppose you’ve heard of this thing called “lying” have you?

Charles Spitzer-Stadtlander posted on LinkedIn that he was fired just after midnight Saturday, days after he started getting harassing messages on Facebook.
“The official DOGE Facebook page started harassing me on my personal Facebook account after I criticized Tesla and Twitter," Spitzer-Stadtlander wrote. “Less than a week later, I was fired, despite my position allegedly being exempted due to national security.”
He added: "When DOGE fired me, they turned off my computer and wiped all of my files without warning.”
Spitzer-Stadtlander said he was supposed to be exempted from the probationary firings because the FAA office he worked in focused on national security threats such as attacks on the national airspace by drones.

I’m not claiming Dems or the media tell the truth all the time. I’m claiming Trump and Musk also lie, and that believing they lie less because you like what you’re hearing from them is naive.

They are if the person “embellishing” knows the real figures and makes up his own, but I don’t need to split hairs on embellishments vs. outright lies when it comes to Trump, because he just openly tells a bunch of lies too.
Petty personal vendettas has been a popular calling card of Musk’s. Remember that time he leaked DMs and restricted account features of a guy who called him out for lying about video games a few weeks ago?
But I’m not claiming Biden doesn’t do these things, just that Trump doesn’t not do them. It’s a point that’s so simple and obvious, but for some reason the response is always to refer me back to the fact that Biden/the media/Dems lie to me. The existence of liars that advance left-wing policies is not a rebuttal to claims that people lie in order to advance right-wing policies.
