that's so crazy it just might work

Then just ****ing establish direct and basic protocols for assigning work and evaluating performance. Run it down each department from the top-down and make the mid-level managers do their ****ing jobs. Lazy government employees aren’t just naturally occurring phenomenon, they had to be allowed to do it. Just use basic performance management with the people who know the department but be aggressive if you must.

This is asking a couple million people to send an email to a small team of people who likely have no idea what they’re looking for and will presumably need to be compensated for doing so. It’s not a problem to actually have employees be accountable to work. But this is a publicity stunt.

I can’t tell what’s funnier - you wanting so badly find a major gripe with anything they are doing it was worth 300 words other than just being like “ I’m sure this is temporary til the dust settles” or you genuinely believing you know better

I don’t think this is some minor point. This is Elon Musk doing political theater against rank and file American workers to pretend he’s going to be able to use this to magically find bunches of fake employees. It’s a dumb, untenable plan and a whole bunch of the people opposing it are Trump people. When there are 2 million federal workers, there’s a lot of touch points for people who closely know someone affected by all this, and I think the over-the-top demonization of folks like “Joe from the Park Service” might not be the route they want to continue on for the next year and a half. Instead of ****ing around with these frequently low and middle wage citizens for X engagement, maybe they should be focusing on the jobs available in the private sector and promoting their constituents as freshly available talent to drive new production in the private sector? The MAGA position seems to be that the private sector will magically provide better jobs for these people, but also that these same people are unfixable lazy assholes who would never survive in the private sector.

I’m not actually coming for Libs Of TikTok’s throat here, but what a very interestingly worded set of poll questions. I think in a vacuum one could very easily answer every one of those questions in a way that suggests they approve of DOGE, but not have actually approve of DOGE. Shocked by how badly this poll is written unless it was actively aiming to sidestep DOGE’s popularity.

Edited to add: I don’t mean to imply a conservative bias to this. It’s just squishy in a way that seems like it was meant to be intentionally broad.

Sorry that nobody wanted to feed your government propaganda machine, buddy.

Hahaha

Well enjoy unemployment loser

It was most likely to see if a real person was on the other end.

Pitiful display

What other job would this be tolerated?

Lemme know the next time the Walmart CEO asks everyone in the company to respond to an email with 5 things they individually got done instead of just asking their ****ing managers to do their jobs, man. Then imagine that CEO complaining loudly that all cashiers are entitled lazy ****s and maybe fake.

I bet you response rate to the Walmart ceo would be close to 100% but it’s amusing to see how much this is bothering you and the left. Meanwhile - majority of the country thinks this makes sense.

I think you’re overplaying your hand. Better hope those prices come down by next year.

Overplaying thrbhand of exposing fraud and waste? While Americans struggle to make ends meet watching government workers living in the richest counties of the country? Ok - you keep thinking that while Trump is garnering massive investments to build factories here and you run candidates that sfilll can’t say what a woman is.

Overplaying the casual cruelty toward a workforce of our fellow citizens. Make no mistake, the left will complain about any job being cut, but the federal government employs a whole lot of folks from a whole lot of different backgrounds and the job market isn’t actually all that swell for job seekers right now.

Answering an email is casual cruelty

The drama!

You mean Joe was lying about the jobs report every time ? Nuh uh!!!!

Here’s my main issue. It’s not about the task. Trust me, if anybody in the federal government truly could not think of five things they accomplished last week, I wholeheartedly agree their jobs are likely wasteful and we should reduce that headcount. But 2 million Americans are being taunted by the richest man in the world and the President for failing to do a task, that while indeed very easy to answer, is complete horse****.

Think of the sheer amount of unavoidable waste that would go into following up on this. Those emails need to be read and had their identity validated to cross-reference against employee records, ensured that the bullet points are valid by someone who knows the process. THEN they need to review anybody who didn’t send an email, validate that person isn’t on leave or vacation or unable to access their government email for any number of reasons, then partner with the various agencies to terminate those employees, while ensuring they didn’t violate any employment laws or leave some massive staffing gap in the process. Like how ****ing badly do you guys hate standard accountability for managers in the US government?

The ones who aren’t responding are being taunting. They are taunting us by stealing our money. We applaud musk for trying to rectify that.
