KLaws top 5 Braves Prospect Rankings

Waldrep and Nacho were the guys I was hoping AA would sell high on, and now the shine has pretty much worn off both.

Missed opportunity there.

I am going to lay low on Waldrep.. I feel like there might be something there still.. Nacho, on the other hand, I agree on.. I am sure he was in packages that were being discussed. But I would be willing to bet AA was trying to extract Grissom level value out of him that no team was going to agree with.

I feel the same way. Nacho will likely become a journeyman, which is fine, but not for a team in Atlanta's position. I would have traded him and Waldrep for a solid back-end starter, or as part of a larger package for someone like Cease. Maybe other teams didn't want them, but it's still a pretty bad miss by AA.

We need good backups but you want to trade a cheap player like Nacho who is our depth at 2 positions. One of which we know will miss atleast a month.

It's entirely possible every other GM saw Nacho's EV numbers and Waldrep's actual statcast data and decided they weren't worth acquiring, so it's hard to put real blame on AA. It's probably not like Preller said, "I'll give you Cease for Nacho and Waldrep", so without actual knowledge we can't really judge.

However, I would have unloaded them for literally almost anything that could have helped the MLB roster, and I have to imagine something was available.

Same boat about Waldrep. Nothing in those rankings surprise me too much. Not as low on Guanipa. Kinda eh list to me, but haven't been a fan of Nacho since ever. I've made my feelings known on Fuentes. Not a bad overview I guess.

Did the 2025 Minor League thread get wiped in the forum changeover?

Augusta could have a sneaky fun outfield to follow. We have two late round high school signees in the OF/DH from last year's draft... Eric Hartman (Canadian HS kid) and Owen Carey... Then we also still have Isaiah Drake who could put something together with his loud tools as he's only 19. All 3 had a great game one with Carey working at DH. Guanipa there too although I'm a bit down on him at the moment.

Their approaches are going to have to improve significantly though. I like them when they make contact. It really is "loud." Guanipa will never get to his tools if he can't lay off pitches within a certain area code.
