Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

I've seen at least a dozen posts like this... "whoever told Trump to do this should be fired"

These people think Trump can do no wrong. Therefore, they push the blame to someone else.

In reality, back when Massie was warning that the covid bill would spark huge inflation, Trump joined forces with... Liz Cheney to try to get him ousted

18 months until the 2026 primary and still no legislation passed despite all three branches of government.

We do have unhinged tariff threats on Truth Social though.

Fear not. We are gonna get some extra Canadian border patrol agents!

It’s going to the point where it’s actually less tariffs import finished goods into the than the tariffs on materials imported into the US needed to manufacture the finished good.

I could really use some peace of mind from our board genius to explain why we're all too stupid to be concerned

Short-run pain: Make consumers stop buying foreign toasters.

Long-run suffering: Eventually America starts making toasters! But they're more expensive & the jobs making them are worse than the ones they replaced.

(Swap any manufactured import for "toaster" & this still true.)

But hey we'll be #1 in toasters and even California will have toast.

I want to raise a toast to our Great Leader. Under his leadership America will soon be toast.

apologies for a slightly burnt post

This is a silly tweet - Based on absolutely nothing.

No jobs are being 'replaced' - Jobs are being added to the economy. ANd the factories of tomorrow will be cheaper to run in America.

Yes. Many Americans will eventually work at making toasters and other low value-added products if this strategy bears fruit.

The problem is they could otherwise be working doing other thangs we actually have a comparative advantage at.

Opportunity costs and all that jazz.

But they aren't working on those things, especially because we just had 4 years of the government subsidizing migrants jobs over American workers - Gladly, that is finally changing back to the way ti should be.

The reality is there aren't good jobs for people who aren't inclined to adapt to the service based economy. Those people should not be left behind and as a matter of national secuirity we should manufacture almost everything.

Principles crowd going to be shrieking endlessly this year - Average american voter will see their annual expenses drop in Trumps economy before the boom in 26.
