2025 Spring Training Thread

Probably until a guy with a 70-80 grade hit tool gets results that more closely match the potential.

Oh, and maybe when the BB rate approaches something close to MLB average.

Again, you are assuming you know more about his swing than he does.

I recall you along with most everyone else shouting to the top your lungs in April/May of 2023 about how Ozzie needs to give up hitting LH. However, more level heads myself, mentioned how unlucky he was getting, and when that luck turned around, he would start hitting from the left side again. And sure enough, in late May, he started mashing from the left side and had like a .900 OPS from the left side for the remainder of the season.

It's almost like... You were wrong. Gasp!!

I wouldn't use a juiced ball year as a 'case in point'.. he is barely an average hitter as a lefty and a beast as a righty for his career. That is not to say he would be better as a righty facing righties.. but I would like to see him try it in spring to see. and the splits were equally as bad in 24 as they were good in 23..

Solid attempt at a gotcha moment, however as usual your reading comprehension skills let you down. I’ve recently stated his approach has deteriorated, which has nothing to do with 2023.

We will see how he adjusts in the current year…2025.

Saw an article on ESPN that predicted that Eli White is going to supplant Arcia at SS.

Their evidence is that he has played it twice in ST, and is a better hitter.

What do you all think?🤔

Ian Anderson keeps striking nobody out, walking more than he should and ... getting people out. I've never felt worse about a guy who isn't giving up many runs in spring.

That's like deciding if I want to get poked in the right eye or left

I need to look at his fangraph data.. but seems like he is a ground ball machine.. So if he can just pitch to contact and stop walking folks then he might be a quality 5th starter.. nothing special.. but serviceable.

lol, nah I think Allen might beat out Arcia for real

I don't know much about allen, but he is having a great spring. White is a good player to have around imo.. he can play all over the field and that is something important.

well important if the Braves had a manager that understood playing time

Anderson has always been more valuable than his profile suggests, but this is definitely wild. I'm getting 2023 first-half Bryce Elder vibes lmao

You stated the same thing in 2023.

If you knew half the **** you think you do, you'd be in an MLB front office.
