GDT 4/4/25: Braves vs Marlins - The Turn Around Begins

Not sure what happened -
Slippy finally showed up, we got a new forum, got a new name, Ozuna brought the teddy bear, Mississippi went to the game…. Chef didn’t bitch all night…. But let’s keep it up- we got some ground to make up.

He is our true ace. 14 IP with 5 total baserunners. He strikes out 1 or more per inning. 60% GB rate. If other teams got a run per baserunner he would still only be a 3.21 era. So far he has also added .5 mph velocity.

This is some strong stuff right here….
 
Interesting note SS threw 42 four seam fastballs. Thats generally his worst pitch. It works at AAA so it makes sense it works against a AAA lineup. Smart of SS to not overuse his breaking pitches when you dont have to.

I don’t remember the batter but he shook off Drake two- three times behind in the count 2-0, and ended up piping three straight heaters that the guy never touched

This was in the first 2-3 innings

No coincidence once our Frontline GDT starter came back, the stopper stopped the losing streak.

It's his velocity up this season? Maybe his worst pitch isn't as bad with a tick or 2 more on the gun
