Not sure which tariffs you’re referring to (not questioning the validity, but there’s a lot of news to consume out there) that Biden has left in place, but your confidence in the economic decision-making of Joe Biden and its consequences on the nation are duly noted here.
 
The answer is it made us a lot of money. That’s why. Even Joe was told that was a good thing . Not sure “doing nothing” is considered “economic decision making “ but ok

It made us a lot of money? Who is this "us." Most of the tariffs Biden left in place was to help a small number of people connected to the steel industry. In return, the rest of us had to pay higher prices for every product that had steel as an input. It was a massive price tag to benefit the few, who had the good fortune to live in a swing state that both parties viewed as critical.

It was a bad policy by Trump and it was the wrong decision by Biden to keep it.
