Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

To be fair to Lutnick, it’s an unanswerable question. Vietnam for instance has already allegedly asked Trump to drop all tariffs between us and them, which should be the only goal here, and we’ve just… tweeted about it and ignored it? If we just want to get rid of tariffs from other countries, what’s left to negotiate?

Most of the signs I've seen at the hands off events are pretty meh. But this one made me chuckle

darkly hilarious that a court has to explain this:

The United States government has no authority to snatch a person who is lawfully present in the United States off the street and remove him from the country without due process.

Don't get too happy. They are entitled to a habeas corpus filing. That's it. The judge can deny it.

In other words, many won't even get a hearing.

I don’t mind if actual TdA and MS13 members are deported without a hearing. But it would seemingly be a helpful step if the Trump Admin just pulls a little oopsie and sends a person who the courts said not to deport to a Salvadoran hell-prison.

How many people are they deporting?

Mistakes are going to be made in high volume deportations.

Mistakes of this nature are unacceptable, even with a high volume of deportations. They trafficked a person who was very credibly neither a gang member nor a criminal to the Salvadoran government despite a standing court order not to deport him. People should go to jail for this.
