Lineup Tweaking - what would you do?

Don't worry about it. It's just a slump!

The Braves had a stretch like this in 2010, at nearly the same time of the year. 29 runs in 13 games, I think. They ended up 5th in the league in runs scored. So, yeah. I feel safe saying it's just a slump.

You think the hitters in todays lineup is comparable to:

McCann, Cabrera, Chipper, Ross, Infante, Prado, Heyward, Glaus, Escobar, Mclouth?

I think it's comparable to the lineup that was 4th in the league in runs last year.

They're 2nd to last in the league in runs scored. Slumps last 10-15 games. 30+ games is a trend.

Except that McCann is a big loss and you can't expect CJ to replicate what he did last year. Plus cluster luck from a year ago.

Simmons has a .280 OBP, and when he does make contact it has plenty of double play potential.

Why in the world would you put him at that position?

Simmons should be hitting 5th or 6th. When he does rake, he hits it pretty hard and can homer too which is what I'd want if we're going all or nothing. I also have no idea why you hate BJ so much because he's surprisingly been one of our only rays of hope recently. To hit him 9th would be a joke.

Jason

Pastornicky

Freddie

Justin

Simmons

Gattis

CJ

BJ (should walk more in front of the pitcher, which means more stolen base opportunities, and if our pitchers ever learn how to bunt, he could be at 3rd base with less than 2 outs).

If TLS ever gets called up, I want:

LaStella

Heyward

Freddie

Justin

Simmons

Gattis

CJ

BJ

If Bossman finds some type of power again, I'd move him up. I'd really be tempted to put Gattis at 8th... he'd get so less pitches to hit it'd force him to learn how to take pitches and walk.

I bat BJ 9th because he adds an element of speed right before Jason would come up. If Jason is on deck, BJ should see better pitches. The issue is will he actually do something productive with them. He has Freedie Freeman behind him now and he is pretty terrible to date this season though. I must say BJ has something like 8 hits in 14 games or something like that. So that's an improvement.

BJ has looked pretty good lately. If nothing else, his patience has been awesome. If he can maintain that (doubt he will), he will be very valuable...

Many many many years ago, BJ was a 400 OBP guy. Now he is wearing glasses and walking again. One can dream

Well Fredi came up with the most imaginative tweak. Harang batting 8th. That's why he makes the big bucks.
