GDT 4/23/25: Braves vs Cardinals - Verdugo Out White In

Good thing Elder was able to get out of the 1st inning with only 27 pitches after a bullpen game yesterday.. It is almost like they don't know what is working in the bullpen before they get on the mound.
Chavez will be in before the 4th inning. We gotta try and get a 3-4 run lead if we're gonna have a shot today.

I will absolutely blame a player for performing poorly. He threw 13 strikes out of 17 pitches and a couple of those strike calls were generous. Throw strikes. Don't throw meatballs, but you gotta throw strikes.
He can't throw strikes in AAA, but you mad at him for not being able to throw them in mlb? Seriously? He's not a strike thrower. He needs pin point control, but he has newcomb control and AAA stuff. He shouldn't be here, period. End of story. Elder is an indictment of AA

2 on no outs. Strand both with Ozzie swinging at the first pitch he sees.

Just like we wrote it up.

It's not Spencer's fault, but I'm so damn frustrated with Strider too. He's said all the right things and seems to mean them, but we badly need him on the field.

Dansby is the guy I wish we hadn't let leave. I don't think he's worth the money he got, but dammit it'd be nice to have a sure thing at SS every day.

He's hitting like ass currently and was very mediocre with the bat last year.

The issue was not pursuing a replacement capable of being a starting caliber SS. Arcia was fine for a year, but everyone knew he wasn't a long term solution.
