2025 Around The League Thread

Both Soroka and Canning would have the team ending at the same result: needing a starter at the deadline. Canning isn’t going to last and a competing team that didn’t have much money to spend using $10M on Soroka would have been extremely stupid. I think Canning would’ve been the much better bet and I prob would’ve kept him at $5M especially since the rest of the offseason included zero SP additions. Elder should not be seeing major league starts anymore but neither Soroka nor Canning should be pitching important innings either. AA has work to do and is probably regretting letting Canning go in hindsight (simply bc he couldn’t find a SP to add) but Soroka at $10M was obviously not the right call for this team.

Andres Munoz of the Mariners has been so good this year that his ERA+ is infinity (or doesn't exist if you want to get technical).
